Well, sometimes it's better anime because it's less confusing. But it is mostly better the manga because there are lots of things (like stories) that aren't in the anime.

So i guess it's better the manga than the anime.

Well in a instance like this I think back to the FMA manga and original animation. I loved the first anime, however I felt the managa just drew things out a bit too much, there was some interesting elements though, but the anime seemed to have hell of lot more moral ambiguity, as well as maturity. When the manga introduced the Xing characters and all the cutesy "ditzy" bullshit I just wanted to snap someones neck, c'mon Japan can't we just have one complete anime or manga without all this "Desu kawaii" weeaboo bullsht...

even though I like watching more than reading,
I feel like a lot of times anime aren't as good as manga when it comes to art and storyline
but when a manga gets an anime of course I'd be happy, more people will know about it!

I kinda like seeing the differences, but I'd also like to see the anime follow the manga more closely. Like the Soul Eater repeat show. I have yet to find that.

I like reading and watching anime, I like the amine or manga to stay true the original but is boring if they are exactly alike

hmmmm,how should i say this?

i enjoy watching animes, since it's easier.what you need to do is just turn on your computer, search for the anime, and watch it.easy, right?or you can even download it.

in my opinion, anime saves more time than manga, cuz you just need to watch, you didn't need to turn pages of comic.

anime allows you to see the character of the story moves and seems alive!i love it.

but however, manga is the original art, anime is the moving product of manga.but i still enjoy reading manga :)

but sometimes anime and manga have diffrent storyline,so just read and watch!
churien Featured By Owner Nov 13, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
yes :la:

whether it follows the original manga storyline or not I don't mind. I actually prefer watching the movie first so when I read the manga there's more content to realise :icontearplz: if I read the manga first and expect something to happen in the movie and it doesn't I feel... :iconotlplz:

I still enjoy both though

Depends when and how it's made to be honest. Like anime that follows the manga faithfully and doesn't stray too far from the original story or end in the middle of the manga are always nice to see. It's also neat seeing characters move around and actually speak. On the other hand, it bothers me when they make an adaption and then don't follow up on it, like ending early with a different ending or completely changing the original story's plot points. I don't know; there's good examples and bad examples of anime adaptions out there.
Asuna---Chan Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
it really depends on how well the anime is made. i normally watch the anime and if i like it then i either just watch it again later or if i think that the anime ended too soon i'll go on to read the manga :)

so in the end i chose sometimes good and sometimes not ;P

I love it !
Even if it's not as good as the original manga, it's so cool to see it animated. And especially discover the voices and musics !
furuba31 Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
I chose the "sometimes it's good, sometime's it's not." It really depends on the anime and the changes. There have been animes that I absolutely ADORE, but compared to the manga, they're just nothing in comparison, the manga is way better. I've also seen animes that changed up the manga but in a good or minor way and there weren't any major changes. I've also seen anime that stuck true to the manga and is absolutely amazing, and then of course I've seen anime that's nothing like the manga and is just awful. So it really depends. For example, one of my favorite animes/mangas of all times is Fruits Basket. I saw the anime first and loved it. Then I read the manga, and the anime changed it up so much it kind of annoyed me, but they're still both amazing, just if I had to choose, I'd say the manga is better.
LadyMeru Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012  Student General Artist
In the end it really depends on which manga but....

:iconffplz: D-GRAYMAAANNNNN *forever spites the anime writers*
bluchevalier Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
you can also ask the same question with ova/movies for an anime, for example, DBZ movies are better than the anime since they don't drag. Though sometimes it's nice to note the differences, like Kaiji movies dragged a lot less than the mangas and they're live action; the animes were about the same, especially with that damn bog. Also, the Kaiji live action movies made Endou and that old guy's child women instead of men.

On + Fence = Me!
Yep... Manga is something I have only dipped into Once, And the Anime was Pretty good. Animation stuck close to Manga, Characters stayed true to the Manga, and the anime was only 13 episodes...
Elfen Lied is what I am speaking of and they did good, But it was short. Too short for my liking.
Especially what I normally watch, Higurashi, Clannad, Haruhi Suzumiya, Soul Eater, Hamtaro (Better in Japan) And Pokemon (Japan was better) And Digimon Frontiers (Love the theme song)

animangeleon Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
I like watching anime, period. However, I prefer the original of any series. If a manga is turned into an anime adaptation, then the manga is usually more in depth than the anime could cover. On the opposite end, if an anime adaptation is turned into a manga, I would rather just watch the original anime.

Can't generalize.

If done right, each makes the other more enjoyable.
But it has to be done right.
Acethemastergame Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012

Paragon-Yoshi Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
Depends whether or not the anime actually sticks to its source material.

Good example for this is "Dragonball".
Bad example for this is "Yu-Gi-Oh".

So yeah, it's so and so.
YKajitaka Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Sometimes the anime completely destroys the series-- like Magic Knight Rayearth. But two anime I liked more than the manga were Lovely Complex and Tsubasa Chronicles. The manga is just sooooooo draaaaaaggyyyyyyy on those two, but the anime are really fast-paces and awesome. Lovely Complex especially comes across better as an anime, because hearing the accent is half the fun~! So it really, REALLY depends on what they do with it when they're adapting it.

Sometimes they're OK, sometimes not. But anime is easier to get and watch online (I find) than manga. I like to read manga when it's a physical BOOK, you know?
AgentPDiddy Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
I like to see them as a whole different story. That way I don't get nearly as annoyed when they change something or leave something important out.

There is a strange example to this: many people think Evangelion comic are the original work, well, it isn't, it is the finished anime version. however both are ok, despite the comic has 3 or four variants.

I like both, right now I'm following Seikon no Qwaser both in anime and manga, and I've done the same with Angelic Layer, and Naruto, and would have done with 666 Satan if there was an anime. I like both media very much each one has it's own secrets, And talking about fillers, try to look for those on Keroro Gunso (SGT Frog, I really hate the name in english).
IDK-kun Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012   General Artist
I would like animes better if it stuck to the plot more, and had no fillers (but not all animes have fillers)

I prefer manga

sometimes a few fillers are ok, but more than that is excesive ^^.

Most of the time, the manga is MUCH better than the anime.

However, when the musics pwn, it's worth watching.

Well usually I read manga, I don't like to have read the whole manga and then follow the story again in an anime, but if I find an anime I like I usually read the manga as well :3

yumacchi Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
I guess mixed feelings? It's all about how is it paced and retold. There are wonderful adaptations which may or may not stick to the original story like Mirai Nikki, Fullmetal Alchemist or Hunter x Hunter, and terrible ones like .hack//UdeDen, NaruTaru and Star Ocean EX :iconwhywouldyoudothatplz:
BalmorianArcher Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012

I usually like the story of manga better for anime adaptations sometimes alter and dumb down the story, mildening or removing rather explicit themes. Also, knowing that you're dealing with the untouched piece right out of the author's mind is another pro of manga.
I also enjoy the manga art, though anime art can be just as amazing.

Usually, action scenes are better in anime though, for obvious reasons.Sometimes voice actors add more personality to a character, and slow paced manga such as slice of life can sometimes be more attractive in anime,as it requires less energy to watch mundane scenes than going through pages.

But there has not been a case that I've found the animated version of some manga be so much better that I'd recommend the anime and not the manga. No matter how successful an adaptation is,the original work always has another place for me.
Nel-katz Featured By Owner Nov 12, 2012
Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's not.

YEAP. I CHOSE THIS ONE. BECAUSE SOME OF THE ANIMES DIDN'T GO WELL EVEN THOUGH THE MANGA IS SO DAMN GOOD. Examples, SKET DANCE and Kill Me baby. Well, maybe some people says it good. But I don't really think so. :P

Wolf and Spice (сначала была ранобэ, потом манга, а потом аниме)
Haibane Renmei (по доздиниси)

Например "N.o.i.s.e" и "Clover".
DAV-19 Featured By Owner Nov 13, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Chiisai-Hane Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012
